When installing apps in Windows 7, "Run as Admin" is needed as it elevates the process to run with full Admin rights - the UAC screen that appears. In Vista & Windows 7, you have a "user-Admin" account, which does not have the same permissions as the XP Admin accounts. All XP user accounts ran with full Admin rights. I mentioned "Run as Administrator" when I noticed you had XP before Windows 7. ![]() I'm very happy to hear that you got MS Money set up under Windows 7. You are very welcome and I thank you for your kind words. I am only a novice on computing and am not too conversant with technical aspects and terms but any help would be very much appreciated I do not want to have to run two computers just to service MS Money and I shudder to think of inputting all my money data manually into my new computer. I have tried various ways on getting it to restore ( different file names etc.) without success. However when I tried to load my back up data for MS Money from my "old" computer (saved on an IOMEGA 75 disc) - the IOMEGA drive and disc ran OK but when I got to the final elements of the restore procedure the following message appeared "The file name is invalid, please use a valid file name" Some software did not like windows 7 but MS Money ( on which |I do my home accounts etc) loaded fine and seems to function in all respects OK - even though it is v.14 - 2004 and no longer supported. ![]() Recently I acquired a new computer with OS windows 7 Home Premium edition 2009 onto which I loaded my old and new software. ![]() I do not know anything much about computers and hope some one can help on this problem.
